The 9 Goddesses

The great Goddesses in nine different forms are remembered and honoured four times a year, which exactly follows the changing seasons and nature.
This festival is also called Sanu Dasain, or a smaller festival, and the bigger one for 2026 is from 11-20 October 2026. We have a group coming to Nepal during this festival. Das ist unsere Gruppe! Bei Interesse bitte unter info@astridjohnen.de oder 0177-4038530 melden. Namasté.
The 9 Durgas of Chaitra Navaratri (March 19–27, 2026)
Day 1 — Shailaputri | Daughter of the Mountains
Embodies the stable, healing energy of the earth. She grounds and fortifies, protecting physical vitality and new beginnings.
Day 2 — Brahmacharini | The Ascetic
Governs discipline and inner strength. She heals through patience and devotion, helping devotees overcome hardship and mental suffering.
Day 3 — Chandraghanta | The Bell of the Moon
Her resonant energy removes fear and mental distress. She shields devotees from negativity and restores peace of mind.
Day 4 — Kushmanda | The Cosmic Creator
She radiates life-force energy (prana). Worshipped specifically for good health, vitality, and the restoration of strength.
Day 5 — Skandamata | Mother of the Divine Commander
The nurturing protector. She dispels sorrow, fear, and pain — caring for devotees as a mother cares for her children.
Day 6 — Katyayani | The Fierce Warrior
Destroys harmful forces and inner darkness. She protects righteousness and grants courage to confront what wounds the soul.
Day 7 — Kalaratri | The Dark Night
The most fearsome form. She annihilates evil, illness, and negativity — liberating devotees from all that harms them.
Day 8 — Mahagauri | The Radiant Pure One
Cleanses and purifies. Her white light removes accumulated suffering and sin, restoring peace, harmony, and wholeness.
Day 9 — Siddhidatri | Granter of All Powers
The great healer and fulfiller. She bestows spiritual powers, wisdom, and complete well-being — the culmination of the journey.
Wishing us a blessed Chaitra Navaratri!
May the nine forms of Maa Durga fill your heart with strength, your home with light, and your life with healing grace. As we honour each divine mother over these sacred nine days, may her protection surround our loved ones and us — and may her blessings bring peace to our inner world and to the world around us.
In a time when peace feels precious, may this Navaratri be a reminder that the divine feminine — in all her fierce and gentle power — is always watching over us.
